Logan pressed the keys on the cash register and took out the exact change for the customer's order. Said customer, being inconsiderate, wordlessly accepted his coffee and bagel, took the money, and retreated to his corner of the cafe. Logan hated working here. Ever since one of the other workers, Kaneki, was arrested for manslaughter, he had to work more hours at this awful job until they hired someone new. Applications were hard to come by when this place was associated with a criminal.
Thankfully, the only person in line was George Cabanela, who was studying at the nearby university. He did a little jig and posed in front of the cash register. "Hey, maaaan. How's it hanging?"
Logan did his best to hide his smile. "The usual?" He already started on making the cafe mocha and heating up a scone.
Cabanela did finger guns. "You got it!" While waiting for his snack, he watched Logan's hands as he worked the espresso machine. He really was a handsome man, even if his frown ruined the whole appeal. But that's why he loved his boyfriend: when he wasn't being serious, it was a treasure.
Logan returned with the cup after making a heart with the foam. "Here you are, George. One tall mocha and one blueberry scone." He smiled.
"See? You should do that more often." He took his things and leaned over to kiss Logan on the cheek.
"...You still have to pay with money."
"...Right, I knew that." Holding the coffee cup in one hand, Cabanela stuffed his hand down his pocket and pulled out a ten space dollar bill.
